Creating a necklace rather than a pendant or earrings allows you to have more influence on the design aspect and it also helps you learn about what should be part of a repeating pattern. Necklaces work when all components have something in common and with Art Jewelry, that does not mean they have to be identical :) This is an advanced project with a design element to the class and it cannot be completed in one session.
